Newsletter Edition 3 - April 2023

Lifted from an old Instagram post - 12 times world champion Kelly Slater captured in 2016 at the Rip Curl Pro, Bells Beach

What would you do with a ticking clock?!

Edition 3 of my newsletter was written from the passenger seat of our car as my husband and I took our annual Easter trip from Adelaide to Torquay. For us, this time of year is all about the Bells Beach Rip Curl Pro. I began photographing the event as a bit of fun in 2014. This year I’m capturing the likes of Kelly Slater and Owen Wright from a professional sports photographer’s perspective with a client brief in mind. My images will be sent to Getty Images for distribution across the world.

I began a career as a sports photographer later than most. Now, at 55 years of age, my body’s been reminding me that this adventure is finite. My strength is waning and knees are aching. I hear the sports photography career clock ticking and the hours remaining are limited. So I’ve made my mind up what to do. Read more at the link.
